Desktop or Laptop?

W

e have finally found a company to shingle our roof for a reasonable price - we have been looking for over a week.  Not my idea of a fun way to spend $2600, but a necessary expense nonetheless.  We are also in need of a new desktop computer - ours is prehistoric (it's sad how 5 years old is ancient when it comes to technology).

Do you use a desktop, or are you a "laptop only" kind of person?

We use both.  I have a laptop for work, and then at home we have a laptop and a desktop.  I always blog from our desktop.  People have said that I should get rid of my desktop, and only use a laptop.
What are your thoughts on this?  Are you team laptop or team desktop, and why?

This full week back to work with kids is tiring me out!  I needed a Green Monster boost this morning to get me going.  It contained: 3 cups spinach (lightly steamed), 1 cup almond breeze, 1 t almond butter, 1 scoop salba, 1 scoop Amazing Grass:

I had a great day at work, and enjoyed a delicious and nutritious lunch:

Dinner this evening was a chicken Caesar salad, with 1 slice of garlic toast:

I had 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt with 1 tsp PB for a snack.

What are your plans for the long weekend?

I have a fun and busy weekend ahead - stay tuned!

Not knowing what it was, I just looked at the Salba website and it sounds like it's a variety of Chia Seeds...? Now I'm all curious! Do you prefer one to the other or are they basically the same in terms of taste and use? Do you use them in anything besides Green Monsters?

I definitely use both laptop and pc, and both pretty much equally right now, though I use my laptop exclusively for school work. I really like having both, though if I absolutely had to choose one I'd probably pick a laptop just out of portability. I like being able to move around :)

I'm a laptop girl all the way. There's not one thing I can't do from my laptop, and I can bring anywhere I want. It's amazing.

I LOVE having a laptop that I can take to the couch, to starbucks, to my bed, to work, WHEREVER! I will never ever get a desktop again! :)

I have been a laptop only gal since college and I can't really see myself going back to a desktop any time soon!

Lap top. It was so awesome while I was pregnant, and then later when I was recovering from surgery, a total of 6 days spend in the hospital. I practically never used my desktop. However the desktop is well, a PC, and the lap top is a mac, and shh, but I have been converted. So tired of virus scanners etc. I like how the PC is set up, how it looks, but I got pretty used to my husband's mac. Oh how I miss it since he took it with him. It was also MUCH nicer to blog on for me.

Not a lot of "plans", but we do have a lot to do around the house. I hope to relax!! :)

We have a desktop but it's not set up. We mainly use our laptop because it's so much more convenient.

We only have laptops right now but that's because I only use a Mac and those desktops are very expensive. In the long run, I'd like to get a desktop, too. But for now my Macbook Pro is running just as smoothly as it did four years ago.

those burritos are really good!!!

i havent had a laptop but they appeal to me. im saving up for one so that when i travel or im out and about i can just work from whatever location. but i guess having a desktop computer to have around as my 'main secure source' works really well. its used as my tv also lol.. much better to watch shows and movies on than a laptop i think. so my answer would be both :)

I'll probably be a laptop guy from now on. Desktop caan provide you with more...if you need it but I don't.

Normal plans this weekend-work,golf maybe,and a 20 mile run.

Amy's burritos are so good!!
And we have both a laptop and a desktop.. but I usually use my laptop. The desktop is nice to have if something happens to my laptop though!

Ever since I got my own laptop, I detest using a desktop. It's just so...big. So clunky. It doesn't feel like it's MINE.

Laptop! Although we're thinking of getting a desktop for the kids to use, as it's probably getting to be time to introduce them to computer use under our supervision (they're 6 and 4 and that seems early to me, but most other kids their age seem to know how to play games and stuff, so...). I bought a MacBook Pro last September, and I don't think I'll ever go back to a PC. When we buy a desktop, it'll be a Mac, too.

Good luck with the roofing!

Wow, that looks delicious, all without the guilt. Now that ice cream I just ate didn't taste that great after all. :)

I only have a laptop because I just do not have room for a desk top... and I needed a laptop when I was in grad school.

I don't know that i will ever get another desk top... Maybe someday when I have a house w/ an office i would get one, but I think might still just stick w/ a laptop then, too!

I actually like both, I'm constantly on both everyday, work or home.

Hmm, I dont have a desk top ever since I've lived away from my dad, but I find that when I go visit, I like the desk top. I feel more "professional". The laptop is sorta casual.
