We continued to share dishes, and try foods at almost every pavilion we visited. We always share, because that way we can try many more things.
At the French pavilion we enjoyed poutine:
We had delicious coffee cake, made by our friend Edith's mom, at the Hungarian club:
German schnitzel, spaetzle, and an apple-cabbage-bacon mixture:
Ukrainian perogies:
There are so many Ukrainians in Saskatchewan, it's easy to have two, very busy pavilions for this culture (both Christopher and myself are part Ukrainian). We visited both, having the perogies at one, and kielbasa at the other, as well as some pickled herring.
We had butter chicken (devoured before I could snap a photo) at one of the Indian pavilions, and samosas at the other one.
Korean eats:
That might have been our favourite dish of the weekend. The spicy pork was perfection.
Caribbean jerk chicken and rice ... another home run:
Chilean doughnuts:
They were much denser than we were expecting, and very doughy. Yum!
Austrian food (all sooooo good):
We want to try making spaetzle at home; it is such a delicious comfort food. The mushroom gravy on top just took it over the edge. Also, the potato salad at this pavilion is some of the best we've ever had.
Irish curry:
I think the only pavilion we didn't have something to eat at was the Polish.
We met up with our pals all three days, and had a lot of fun with the kids the first two days, and then with just the grown-ups on Saturday. It was so nice to get together with everyone, and to see a few of the special little ones in our lives 💜
The entertainment at the pavilions was top notch, and we took in a lot of it between eating and visiting. What a fun weekend!
