Feeeeeeed Me!

I really need to eat.

My appetite has been nonexistent for quite some time.  I ate well in NY, but since being home I haven't been able to stomach much.  Nothing sounds appealing.  I have actually been picking up Booster Juice occasionally (which I don't even really like), because smoothies are better than nothing.

While out for breakfast on Sunday, the thought of breakfast food made me nauseated.  Instead I ordered Mexican Pickle Soup!?  and a side of fruit.  (FYI - No, I am not pregnant).

I expected the soup to be a little more creative, but it basically tasted like a light cream based vegetable soup with some dill in it.

There were a few pieces of pickle, but not enough to make it interesting.  I ate about half.

Breakfast at home as been egg in a hole ... usually a favourite of mine, but I've been choking it down.

I really have to get back in the kitchen!  Expect something a little more exciting this weekend.

Have you cooked anything interesting lately, or are you in a cooking funk like me?

Sorry you're in a cooking funk. I have been a machine in the kitchen. I wish I could mail you some of it!

Hi Jolene -- it's been too long! That's a bummer about your appetite -- hope it comes back soon! I recently came out of a cooking funk too. I made pretty good shrimp and zucchini tacos for dinner tonight, but that's as interesting as it gets over here. Oh, and I also made a really good sugar cookie milkshake.

I hope you get your appetite back soon! I hate when I go through phases like that. :(

I made a puttanesca sauce last week. It was SO good and so easy!!

Hey Jolene! I've totally been going through the same thing. ...Well, not exactly, because I still have an appetite, but I've experienced next to no kitchen creativity lately. Life is too busy and chaotic right now. I'm hoping it'll calm down soon though! So here's to us rekindling kitchen magic!

I hope you get your appetite back soon. It happens to me too sometimes.

Have you tried exercise or yoga?

Haha totally thought you were pregnant, but I am glad you cleared that up. I get the same way sometimes...nothing appeals top me and my food gets so boring because I am not craving the flavour at all! Good to see fruit there, always a go-to option...the sweetness helps ;) xoxo <3

Try cooking a dish that has just a few ingredients and doesn't need much prep, ie: roasted vegetables or a soup. Sometimes, just seeing the beauty in a simple dish can be enough to bring back the love. Hope you get your appetite back soon. :)

I'm in a funk right now. The weekends are the worst because I don't plan my dinners and it seems like I don't ever want what I have in my house!

I am in the opposite kind of funk right now where I am eating everything in sight. I literally cannot stop eating. I think it's stressed related:) Hopefully you get your appetite back soon!
