Fall Food

So apparently Fall is here.  It is amazing how one day the leaves are green and on the trees, and it seems like they turn colour and fall to the ground without me even noticing.  I just wake up one day, the air is chilly and the colourful leaves are strewn about.

I haven't had a lot of time to get out and enjoy the change of season, but I did manage to sneak two fun gatherings into my homework-filled days.

On Saturday evening we had a sushi and karaoke night with a bunch of friends, most of whom the hubby met through his racing/training.  They are such a fun group!

We ordered all-you-can-eat sushi with our good buds Emma and Dalton.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

On Sunday afternoon I took a much needed break from my thesis work and went to a friend's bridal shower.  The food was insanely awesome because it was made by a bunch of Italians, and they know good food!

I am looking forward to the wedding next weekend, when all our out-of-town friends will be home for a "friend reunion." It is sure to make for a fun-filled wedding long-weekend.

Oh, and as a side note ...

Make this.

Now.

That is all.

Have you met any friends through racing, blogging, or another hobby of yours?

I have met a lot of friends through blogging, many of which have become best friends. I will be in 2 bloggers weddings next year, which is a testament to the strength of the friendship!

I am also starting to meet other runners through my run club!

Fall, fall, fall! I AM SO EXCITED it's that time of year again! Steamed veggies and squash are taking the place of salads and smoothies and I couldn't be happier!

This might sound silly, but I haven't really made any good friends through running but I've become 10X closer with other friends that have recently taken it up. It gives us a whole other world of things to talk about and other ways to spend time together.

I've made friends with people because we are fans of the same band. That sushi looks pretty neat!

All-you-can-eat sushi sounds so good right now.

And I've always wondered about Angela's vegan alfredo -- now I know I need to make it!

a few of my friends in denver are from blogging. It's a great way to meet people that have the same hobbies as you...or who want to kill you. BTW doesn't sushi night always make things better?

So you are looking to rid your girl of these unwanted stalkers when
you are drawn to Willow Creek's Black Mirror Castle. I've played Nancy Drew for years and even her saccharine personality is more 3D than Lindsay or 'Linds') as she calls
herself. Play games all night long in keeping with the
twenties theme such as various card games and crossword
puzzles.
