y week was full of homework and studying, as was my weekend - blah.
Fortunately last week I was contacted by the promotional team at CSN Stores. I have worked with CSN Stores many times in the past, alternating between giveaways and reviews of their many products from their huge collection of on-line stores. CSN stores sell everything under the sun, including kitchen bar stools and other furniture, to baby products, cookware and other kitchen gadgets. Last time I worked with CSN stores I did a giveaway, so this time I will do a review.
Any requests for what you would like me to review?
Some ideas I have include: crepe pan, steak knife set, or a mini loaf pan.
On Friday morning I made German Chocolate Oats with 1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze, 1/2 cup quick oats, 1 tsp Dark Chocolate Dreams PB and 1 tsp coconut:
Lunch was Sukiyaki beef with rice and veggies from Edo Japan. I had a quick chicken Caesar salad for dinner before getting to my homework:
I took a break on Friday evening around 11:30 to watch some TV and share some popcorn with the hubby.
On Saturday morning I had a few pancakes, then headed out of town to visit my mom for the day. Lunch was a green chicken curry at a Thai restaurant. I drank a lot of coffee and tea, and snacked on some beef jerky on the way.
My Saturday evening was spent studying. I am cool like that. Dinner was a Booster Juice, and some yogurt with PB in it (I had this snack 3 times this weekend):
If you haven't tried vanilla yogurt with PB stirred in it, please understand these 2 facts:
1) There is a first time for everything
2) There is no time like the present
Melt the PB for about 20 seconds first. You're welcome.
My dad took the family out for brunch this morning. I had the small southwestern breakfast.
(I didn't eat the toast):
I snacked on yogurt with PB and hemp seeds this afternoon, then went to my in-laws for supper. We had Caesar salad, stuffed pasta shells & garlic bread. Dessert was apple crisp.
I ate about 1/2 of this. My husband has no idea when it comes to dishing out portions for me! |
As most of you know by now, in 2 weeks I will be going to the Food Buzz Festival in San Fransisco! This weekend I bought my welcome reception gift exchange gift. Each attendee has been asked to bring a foodie gift that represents their blog or region. We are going to do a gift exchange at the welcome reception. I am excited to show you all what I bought, but it will have to wait until I get home - don't want to spoil the surprise for the potential recipient :-)
What type of foodie gift would you give to represent your blog or region (around $20 value)?

Vanilla yogurt and PB?!? Oh.my.gosh. I need to try this asap!
Your post totally made me want pancakes with yogurt and PB on top!
Not sure what my region/blog related gift would be! Probably NZ wine - lol does that count?! Hehe
Peanut Butter in vanilla yogurt? Hmm... might have to give that a try! xxx
Looking forward to whatever you review! I have been finding it impossible to choose something to use my win on! :)
I'm still sad I'm not going to FB :( Since I'm from Texas I would bring something fried...we are known as the "big" state so something ridiculously gross and fried. hahaha. Then I would be kicked out of fb. Anyways I hope your mom is doing well Jolene...and I DO eat sunflowerseed butter with greek yogurt. DECADENT!
I love PB in my greek yogurt with bananas and some granola on top. Yum. In fact, that's what I had Sat and Sun mornings. I would really have to think about something that would represent me/my blog or my region...
I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about your trip !!! :)
A carrot. :)
Um... probably a vegan cookbook at this point... but a good one, not one of those vegan cookbooks that just uses vegan "chick'n" patties for everything.
Ooooh I'm very excited to see what gift you bought!!!
PB in Vanilla yogurt is GENIUS! I must try that asap!!!
i use peanut flour in my yogurt (they sell it at trader joes) pb yogurt is so dang good!
pb and vanilla yogurt sounds amazing!
I would gift something from Taste of the Okanagan (www.tasteoftheokanagan.com). They make sauces, salsas, salad dressings etc. with stuff grown in the Okanagan and are against using any additives, preservatives or food colorings. Plus you can order online, so if the receiver liked it they could get their shop on at home! I love the Roasted Red Pepper Salad Dressing so that would probably be first on my list to give...
OMG I love peanut butter and yogurt but the melting idea just set my heart aflutter!
Oh gosh what food represents LA? lol I have no clue...I eat a lot of blueberries. Does that count? haha Btw, peanut butter + yogurt is sooo good. I have been stirring in peanut flour with my yogurt and it is almost like peanut butter mousse. SO GOOD!
u always have the best range of foods and meals! german chocolate oats with coconut of course, and then the most amazing southwestern scramble!!! its insane!! <2
I adore PB so I have got to try that combo. Mmmm....
If I had to bring something to swap that represented where I live, I would probably pick an assortment of Wild Rice since we are known for that here in the Minnesota.
AHH have fun at foodbuzz! I am so jealous!!! oh my gosh AMEN about PB and yogurt together.. soo good!
wow what a different combo.....Hmmmm kind of tempted! SAN FRANSISCO!!!!! yahooo two weeks will be here before you know it!
vanilla yogurt n PB both are my favorites as such.. but never tried them together.. sure to whip them together for the evening snack.. :)
This is pretty non foodie, but I'd probably find a cheapo pair of vintage cowboy boots to represent my blog!
Can't wait to see your gift. I would probably bring Nuts 2 You Nut Butter, which I don't think is as common down in the States.
Love peanut butter mixed with most anything. Thanks for sharing.
Plan B
The gift exchange is a brilliant idea, I wish I could participate in Foodbuzz too :)
