ome sweet home!
After a wonderful week of sleeping in a tent, and relaxing outside, I am happy to be home. I came home to a few surprises in the mail (I will show you tomorrow), and a whole lot of entries for my Mystery Giveaway.

I had a lot of great eats over the past week. Here is a selection of some of my meals:
(Breakfast scramble)
(small veggie sub)
(French Toast)
(Salmon and Asparagus)
(Steak and Potatoes)
(Bacon and Eggs)
(Ribs, corn and sweet potatoes)
(Spaghetti and Jarred tomato sauce)
(Garlic bread)
(Pancakes)
(Chili from scratch)
(Cinnamon bun)
This is just a selection, as I spent most of my time relaxing while camping and didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Most of my eats were along the same lines of the pics I posted (add in a burger, some salad, smokies, fruit, cookies, chips, beer...). I also had some incredible pink grapefruit gelato that I am going to try and recreate this week.
I am happy to report that there were WAY less bugs on this trip than my last camping trip in July, and the weather was WAY better than the camping trip I went on in May.
I am excited to be home to enjoy my last FULL week of summer holidays. I have a lot on the agenda for this week, and I plan on eating a LOT of fruits and veggies to make up for those I missed while camping.
What is the longest you have ever been away from home?
Do you get home sick? Did you as a kid?
The longest I have been away from home is about 2 weeks. I don't get homesick, but I do like getting home to everyday life sometimes.
I am going to crash hard tonight - g'night!

Looks like you ate well during your camping trip! :) Glad to hear you had a great time!
I live in the country and the bugs aren't anywhere near as bad as they were earlier in the Spring/Summer.
The French toast looks great. I love it on thick French bread.
The longest I've been away from home was when I studied abroad in New Zealand for half a year. I loved the country so much that I never got homesick. Yet I've gotten homesick on shorter trips. Usually I'm homesick on day 1 of a work trip.
Those are some serious eats for camping! I think the longest I've been away was about 8 days. I got homesick as a child. I don't so much now, but it's certainly nice to get back into your own bed.
Welcome back girl! I missed ya! I didn't spend much time away from home at all. I didn't even go to camp.
It sounds like a great trip! Glad to hear you had nice weather and fewer bugs! I have done some pretty big trips which have taken me away from home for the whole summer. I get homesick occasionally, but usually I'm having such a blast that I don't mind!
Welcome back! The longest time I've ever been away from home is a week.
I'd love to see pictures from where you went camping
Your eats look FANtastic!!
The longest I've ever been away from home was the 10 days on my honeymoon. I got homesick around the 7th day....... :)
wow sounds like a great trip!! I have said it before but dang you guys have some good food while camping!! Jealous!! I would go to my dads house in the summer so I would be away from home about 3 months. And I loved every minute of it :) So so happy I won! I will send you my info!!
Yay your camping vacay sounds fun! I love going camping but don't know if I could last a whole week. 2-3 nights is kind of my limit :P
I never tend to get homesick but when I was sick in Baltimore earlier this year I was incredibly homesick. Not fun.
Looks like you ate well on your camping trip!
You sure lucked out with less bugs - I actually like nature but I hate camping because of the critters!
Jolene! Your back! I've missed you haha - I think we'd get along will in "real" life for some reason :) THANK YOU for always taking the time to come to my blog, means alot ;)
...and your EATS - yayyyyy! (I'm still waitiing for a Recipe section girl!) - love it all. I've been away from home for extended periods under very bad circumstances...read no job, car breaks down, no money, thousands of dollars lost...let's not go there shall we?
i think the longest i've been away from home is 2 weeks. i was in massachusetts w/ my family so i didn't get too homesick. when i went to italy for 10 days i missed my home so bad!! it's always around day 8 or 9 that i'm like ok i've had enough. even in italy!
Glad that you had a great time camping. Can you believe that I have never been camping? All that food looks great!
I just ate lunch and got hungry with all the pictures of food! The cinnamon roll really got me though! I have been away or 14 days before and that is really my limit. I missed my kids and home. It is great to be away though, since it really makes you appreciate what you have! I hope you got some rest last night!
the longest trip i have been on was three weeks-it felt good to get home after that!
You have some lovely eats there! The longest trip I have been on was 3 weeks in Eastern Europe. I loved most of it but I love being back and doing my normal boring person thing!
Besides college, I was away from home for at most 6 months last year when I went to Singapore..and stayed 5 months longer than planned. I did miss home...but I suppose Singapore is my second home anyway!
Glad you're back safe and sound...and boy you've been eating well!
Boba is a tapioca ball!! They put it at the bottom of drinks like tea and smoothies so when you take a sip you get a shot of tapioca too :) It takes some getting used too, but I love it!
glad to hear you had a good trip and didn't get eaten alive:)
the longest i've been from home...hmm...when we go back and visit Canada, that's a 3 week period. it's great to see everyone, but you miss having your own bed, your usual routine. and since we always go when it's winter time (in Canada) i always miss the Australian warm weather :)
Wowsers... You ate really well on this trip!! I don't eat that well when I am in the comforts of my own home with a well-equipped kitchen. I think it's because I'm single... I just don't have the motivation to make anything all that interesting most nights...
I studied abroad in college so was gone for about 4 months for that. Then in the summer of 2008, I spent 3 weeks in France - 1 week was a vacation week, the other 2 weeks were for a grad school program. I had a blast in France and fell head-over-heels in love with Paris, but I was really happy to return to my condo and sleep in my own bed.
In general I would say that I don't get home sick but that's probably because I have lived alone for 6 years... so being away from home by myself isn't all that different from living alone...
