Saskatoon Again

E

arth Day

The hubby and I have made many changes over our nearly 6 years of marriage to help better the environment. Some of these changes include:

- Using all energy efficient appliances and light bulbs
- Using reusable grocery bags
- Recycling plastic, paper, and cans
- Using metal refillable water bottles instead of buying bottled water
- Choosing to eat more vegetarian meals
- Eating organic whenever possible
- Using solar powered light in our yard and outside of our home

What changes have you made in the past few years to help the environment?

The hubby and I didn't go to work today. We had to go back to Saskatoon to visit my Mom in the hospital :-( We have no idea when she will be getting out, or where she will be going when she gets out - she is not well enough to be on her own in her apartment.

I had oatmeal before we left on the road today:

I had some of this coffee on the drive (we bought it in NY):

Lunch was quick sushi to-go that the hubby and I shared:

And 1/2 a small blizzard! It has been a while!

We got home around 9 pm this evening and made a late dinner of pancakes and eggs. The pancake mix we also bought in NY from Williams Sonoma:

I have been experiencing severe vertigo all day, and after 4 hours in the car today and a long day at the hospital, I am completely exhausted.

Off to catch some much needed Zs.

What are your plans for the weekend?

:( I pray for your mom. There are probably tons of places she can stay where they provide onsite nursing for her. I finally have a weekend off so I'm going to spend it with 2 of my best girlfriends. I hope you feel better this weekend Jolene!

I love that you use solar paneled light! We do many of the same things - we also started composting and try to walk instead of drive, when possible!

So Sorry your mom is still not doing well. I cant imagine the stress and pain of that situation. You guys are in our prayers.
This weekend I plan on doing some grocery shopping, running errands and going on a date with my hubby :)

Is it sad that the blizzard captured my attention so much? Hubs just saw a commercial last night about something with a blizzard and I just looked at him like "don't even think about it".

Hope everything goes well with the family! :-)

The hubs and I bike wherever we can when the weather permits, are starting to use reusable grocery bags, buy organic, keep our air or heat off when we don't need it, etc. We're trying and I love it! Makes me feel like I'm doing the environment a favor and helping it thrive and grow!

I unplug appliances that aren't in use! I even noticed a difference on my electricity bill once I started doing this.

My plans for the weekend include MOVING!!!!! :)

I'll keep praying for your family.

Hey girl. I'm thinking good thoughts for your family.

Hubby and I never boy bottled water, I take public transportation 60 miles a day (ouch!) and we are crazy and recycle and have a compost pile.

Did you get the 2nd blizzard for 25 cents?? My friend and I did that and it was great - I hadn't had a blizzard in years!!
