What we ate Wednesday

Our dinner this evening was a chicken and mushroom penne.
We baked it with cheese, because we're wild like that.

We had some of this skinny, little, organic bread on the side:

This was a perfect mid-week dinner after our cold, long days.

What was your Wednesday dinner?

What I ate Wednesday

Breakfast this morning was soooo good!  I had a mango, two little bruschetta style toasts, and a fresh juice made with 2 mini cucumbers, 1 grapefruit, 1 green pepper.

At noon I met my friend Shauna for a smokie from a cart in the park.

Dinner this evening started with Ukrainian beetniks (dough wrapped in beet leaves, in a dill cream sauce).

Then rack of lamb and a medley of veggies done on the grill.

(Rubbed with this)
(Zucchini, cucumber, red pepper, carrot, mushroom, onion, mixed greens, fresh herbs, shallot oil, etc.)
Christopher cooked the lamb perfectly, and I've only had lamb a handful of times, but it was the best I've ever had.

What did you eat today?  Have you ever had beetniks?

What I ate Wednesday

It had been a while since I had a green monster for breakfast.  This morning I blended one up with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, chia seeds, banana, spinach and almond butter.  Mmmmm!

Lunch was some of the spaghetti and meat sauce that I made yesterday.

This evening I met up with my sister for dinner at Orange.

We shared some adegashi tofu, and each ordered the bulgogi sandwich.

We both left some sandwich and fries on our plate - the serving was huge!

There is a Bernard Callebaut chocolate shop in the same strip mall as the restaurant, so I had to buy a few chocolates.  I picked out 2 of my favourites, and 2 new ones.

My all-time favourite is the strawberry one, which is bizarre, because I normally hate fruit filled things.

This chocolate is different.  It is crisp on the outside, but smooth on the inside.  The filling is mild and fresh.  It is hard to describe the taste - you just have to try it!

I also love "The Bernard"

Simple is good.

I'm thinking I'll have a grapefruit before bed ...

What did you eat today?  What is your favourite chocolate?
