Five on Friday

1)  On Sunday evening I did some cooking so we'd have dinner for that evening, as well as some lunches for the first part of the week.  I made beef stew with dumplings, and stuffed pasta shells.

2)  Last weekend we did some yard work, but since most of the leaves have not fallen yet, I see more yard work in the future.

3)  Red Lobster dinner:

4)  Lovin' my new coffee mug from Christopher's parents:

5)  I always hated Hamburger Helper as a kid.  We had it every once in a while when we needed something quick and easy, and I thought it was narrrrrrsty.  Yesterday we needed a quick dinner, and had a cheesy Tuna Helper, which I thought was pretty darn good!  We added peas, because we like peas.

What are your five on Friday?
What do you have planned for the weekend?

Five on Friday

1) Yesterday I had an awesome day with Christopher's sister Vicki.  We went for breakfast to Fresh & Sweet, ran a few errands and visited with some bubbly in the backyard.

2) I used to make my green smoothies with spinach, but I'm totally loving kale these days (4 large kale leaves, 1/2 large frozen banana, about 1 cup chocolate coconut water).

3) I went to take a bite out of my egg bagel sandwich this morning, and this happened:

Darn runny eggs (but they taste so good)!

4) I have a lot of cleaning/purging/organizing plans for the summer around the house.  Today was just a clean house/laundry day.  All sparkly clean!

5) I'm looking forward to seeing Alice in Chains in concert tomorrow!

What do you have planned for the weekend?  Do you have any summer cleaning/organizing projects on your to-do list?

Five on Friday

 1)  Spring has not arrived.  The snow is still at least waist high in my backyard, and it's not stopping!  The one thing that I am enjoying about this "spring" is the daylight.  This entire week I woke up about an hour before my alarm went off, feeling refreshed.  I bought flowers the other day to try and bring spring inside since it doesn't want to cooperate outside.

2)  We can't BBQ yet, but this maple glazed, pepper crusted salmon was still good done in the oven.

3)  We finally have frozen yogurt shops in the city!!  We tried Tutti Frutti, and I thought it was really good.  Next up, Menchies.

4)  I'm putting together the final draft of my thesis, so I've spent a bit of time at the university this week touching things up and grabbing one last book to reference.

5)  Dinner at Viet Thai last night, before heading next door to hear some live music:

What are you up to this weekend?
