This weekend we attended the Cathedral Arts Festival, which is one of the best yearly festivals in town.  Christopher's band, Screaming Daisies, wailed on the Friday night.  They played to a huge crowd, and everyone had a great time.
On Saturday afternoon we wandered the street fair, ate street grub, and watched a killer performance by The Fortunate Isles.  We also made a stop at the candy store, because Christopher likes candy more than most five year olds ;-)
And, I like Hello Kitty more than most five year olds ...
We also had to stop for a pie.  Because someone needed a pie.  I bet you can guess who.  (*Hint - not me).
We caught three more bands on Saturday evening.
This morning we enjoyed a late breakfast of fruit, potatoes, poached eggs and bacon.
Dinner was cooked on the BBQ - pork chops, asparagus and potatoes.
We ended off a great weekend with a food documentary, Food Matters.
How was your weekend?  What was the highlight?  Do you have a favourite local band?  Plug them in the comments!

Sounds like an awesome weekend! The highlight of mine was having some luck shopping on Friday (I found some mint colored pants) and treating myself to sushi afterwards.
I haven't had a chance to check out the local music scene here, but I definitely want to!
I love that Chris is in a band. So cool! My weekend is ongoing, but it's been great so far - fabulous food and drink, an amazing brunch, golf and now some hiking. Pretty close to perfect!
I was a little sad about missing the arts fest! And how awesome that the Screaming Daisies got a Friday night slot. Admittedly, I'm a little pouty that Vic's been playing with the FO...though that's a whole other story, ha ha!
So happy that it's warmed up and we can BBQ properly. I don't love bundling up to grill things.
To be honest, I don't check out local bands very much at all because I don't enjoy crowds, but I do listen to The Deep Dark Woods, a Saskatoon band.
