Training Day 3

Today I woke up early and made a quick and healthy breakfast that included a Green Monster: (3 cups spinach, almond milk, almond butter, banana, Chia seeds, flax)

And this slice of bread (toasted with a little olive oil "margarine"):

I then headed to work, as I was planning on getting a few hours in before noon. Once I got there I realized that I couldn't go in because I forgot the alarm code :-) Lovely. I don't know anyone's number from work, and tried looking people up but couldn't find them - so I came home.

I did some preparation/ studying for my GRE test that I write on Saturday, and then watched a couple of episodes of The Office with the hubby.

Lunch was some chicken soup, with a sprinkle of cheese on top:

And 1/2 a turkey sandwich with light mayo and mustard:

This afternoon hubby came out running/ walking with me for day 3 of my C25K training plan. Again, it was brutal. Luckily it was a little rainy and cool which made it a bit more bearable, but I still hated every second of it. On a positive note, it did go by faster than the 1st and 2nd day.

I don't care if I hate it and if running is TORTURE for me. I am NOT going to quit. I can't. I have to prove to myself that I can do it. I WANT to be a runner. This is going to be a long haul for me, but I will feel more accomplished than I have ever felt if I finish the program. My little lungs can do it :-)

For supper we went to hubby's parents, as we always do on Sundays. My MIL made a very comforting meal of perogies (my favorite), farmer's sausage, and potato casserole. We also had very tasty corn on the cob. I had a glass of crystal light Ice Tea to drink:

I ate 1/2 sausage, 3 perogies topped with 1 TBSP sour cream and a sprinkle of bacon bits, 1 scoop of potatoes, and 1/2 a corn.

For dessert I had a very small helping of apple crisp with icecream:

I didn't eat enough veggies today, so I am having a bowl of "trees" as I type (Broccoli - lightly steamed, nothing on it).

Have a good night peeps! See you in the A.M.
