I hate seeing people go into debt because they bought something they can't afford because they "had to have it."

And I do have that mentality sometimes. Delayed gratification is a think of the past. This trend extends into areas such as medicine, too. Nobody wants to work on becoming healthy - we want a pill that will fix us today so we can continue with our lives tomorrow.

What I find about our parents' generation is that when they left their parent's house, their quality of life and standards increased (especially if they left a rural area). On the other hand, when I left my parent's house, my standards decreased because I had it so good while I was growing up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3574150421803295175.post-29996578044087177812010-01-27T11:02:30.440-08:002010-01-27T11:02:30.440-08:00Your food choice are so yummy looking :) I am so b...Your food choice are so yummy looking :) I am so bad with the "everything now" way of life. I have the most energy to do challenging things while the idea is fresh and I am highly inspired.
On the meantime I try not to step in this consumerism trap, where you just buy new things, want new things and not even enjoy what you do already have. You're right, people in there 20s seem to have all these wonderful things these days that are parents certainly never had. I mean, in my apartment alone I have TWO laptops, a big screen TV (another regular sized TV, a DSLR, a blackberry an ipod.
