One of my passions is psychology, so when I discovered Therapy Vineyards I just had to try their wines. They have some interesting (psych nerdy) names for their wines, such as Freudian Sip, Freud's Ego, Pink Freud, etc.. I am a huge fan of Freudian Psychology (don't judge), and love that all the names and labels are related to Freud in some way. This wine is not available in Saskatchewan, but you can get it in Alberta, BC, Ontario, etc..
I thought that this weekend was a good time to crack open the one bottle that I was lucky enough to get brought back for me from BC earlier this summer. I like that this Merlot, called Therapy has a Rorschach inkblot on the label.
The wine tasted as described, and was very nice served with dak galbi - a spicy Korean dish.
This dish is made with chicken (in a sauce that contains gochujang powder and paste, soy sauce, curry powder, sesame oil, cooking wine, etc.) ...
And rice cakes ...
As well as sweet potato, cabbage, onion and garlic ... We didn't follow any particular recipe; we just threw in what we wanted, including some mixed greens that needed to be used up, and ginger because it is awesome.
If you've never tried Korean food, you really need to! I haven't had any Korean dishes that I didn't love.
This meal was the perfect way to end off a pretty nice little weekend.
How was your weekend? What are you passionate about? Have you ever eaten Korean food?

If you went to Korea, you'd come back 10lbs heavier.....or maybe you wouldn't come back at all! You're Korean food looks so delicious. Did you know dak galbi was the first food I ate with Sung Hyun on our first date? I'll never forget the noodles dangling from his mouth. How rude! I thought.
This dish is really good with chewy noodles.
Oh, and SOJU!!!!
p.s. today my mom said, "who is the Jolene lady who keeps commenting on your blog? She seems like such a nice person. I want to meet her!"
oh what a creative brand/name for wine!
@ Jennifer - Awwweee, your mom is sweet :-) I've never had dak galbi with noodles, so I'll have to try that!
I love Korean food! I'm passionate about writing and football :)
Looks amazing!! I'm passionate about my family and my faith.
I think most of my wine-buying decisions are affected by goofy names and things like that, ha ha. :) Too bad you can't get 'em here! Mike just bought this white wine, forget what it's called, but the label is just this mess of sketch-art. Something about a bear...can't remember. We'll have to crack it soon and blog about it!
My weekend was good, though I'd have to sit down and think about what I did :) I'm passionate about oral health, my kids, usually my husband (depending on how stressed out I am - he's pretty much always awesome, but I'm not), and The Walking Dead. Love zombie stuff. And I've never tried Korean food. I wouldn't even know what to order!
Ooh fun I am going to have to try and find some of these wines in our liquor store. Eric and I LOVE trying new wine with fun names and/or labels :)
I haven't heard of that wine. I like the clever names for the wine!
My weekend was great. I was at a friend's wedding and saw so many blogger friends, it was awesome!
I am passionate about all things French!!
I must try out these therapy wines - how fun! I wonder if they carry them down here in Springfield?!!?
